Wild Love '15 - Day 1
I was privileged to attend the Wild Love worship conference at MorningStar and did my best to get (n)otes and (t)houghts on paper. I wanted to share so that anything I picked up might be encouraging or helpful.
(n) Our prayer should continually be: "Come and show me what love is" (t) in the midst of but pain and peace
(t) smile on the heart of the worshipper ... the lips, hands, legs and face may not be evidence of worship until the mind, heart and spirit are touched and changed by God. Honor where the individual is and trust the Lord with where they are going; encourage and "let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths..." Ephesians 4:29-31
(n) be His gateway of living water
(n) man cannot begin to look like God until we love as He loves
(n) communion may be more about gathering together than partaking in the ceremony of bread and wine ... let Jesus be the reason we meet and let him join -- "where two or more are gathered..." Matthew 18:20
(n) why make worship as something we owe God ... we owe it to ourselves - why pass up the opportunity to sit across the table from the greatest power and kindest person you'll ever meet
(n) embrace the heart of worship; often we miss the best part of life when we chase the creation over the creator -- it's like someone who has a passion for a wedding, but not the marriage; for being a parent, but not for the family; for a job promotion, but no desire for the work
(n) "The most obvious fact about praise—whether of God or anything—strangely escaped me. I thought of it in terms of compliment, approval, or the giving of honour. I had never noticed that all enjoyment spontaneously overflows into praise unless ...shyness or the fear of boring others is deliberately brought in to check it. The world rings with praise..." Reflections on the Psalms, C.S. Lewis
(n) as natural as breathing or eating... - you must articulate a heavy heart - you must speak of what you love - you must tell others; sharing
(n) you have no choice in whether you worship ... simply what you worship -- everything but God has a destructive trajectory
