Playing Games With Jesus

This week we take a closer look at the Roman centurion and soldiers who were tasked with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. These soldiers were hardened and unfazed by the process of these executions. So much so that they were mocking and playing cruel games with their next victim.

While we may see their behavior as inexcusable, it's actually a reflection of us. Our disobedience dishonors and mocks the authority of Christ over our lives. Without submission to Jesus, our hearts are left to their rebellion and wicked desires. Yet in his love for us, Jesus offers forgiveness and even his own life to save us from our selves and reconcile us to God.
