We often see people as just people. But they were originally intended to be images of God, made in His likeness, and designed to point us to our Maker. But in the time since the first humans decided to live life on their own terms, people have abandoned that innate purpose of being image bearers of God.

However, the view of God people is still possible, it just requires a redefinition and redemption of our own image. That change came through Jesus Christ. When He came as the perfect representation of God, He reset the model and sacrificed His perfect life so that we could be restored to be what God originally designed.

When we better understand that every human is an image of God—even the one in the mirror—we can actually love more like God does; whether saved by faith or still dead in sin. The grace and honor we've been given by God can be extended to the lost and the Christian family so that we might all grow as ambassadors of Jesus.
